Van Racking for Electricians

As an Electrician, we know that you require lots of consumables such as cables, screws, conduits, fuses, and trunking, as well as a whole host of multiple tools including pliers, screwdrivers, testers, screws, nails and drill bits along with electrical items such as a jigsaw and several drills. All of which allows you the opportunity to work efficiently and effectively.

“I knew I couldn’t continue with a van full of what most people would probably describe as a jungle, my kit… And whilst I knew where my first fix and second fix stuff were, it was clear things had to change”

Van toolboxes

Our van toolboxes are ideal for the Electrician with space for a variety of small tools, consumables, and materials. Ensuring everything you might need in a clear, concise and well thought through ergonomically efficient way.

“They are a great way to carry tools and consumables directly from the van to the job, minimising the risk of having to return to the van”.

At SM UK you can build it your way, with our help from sourcing the vehicle on your behalf, creating 3D drawing from our discovery meeting to handing you the keys after the final fit with a van ready to work.

Drop-front shelfs

Storing cables in boxes rather than on racks is becoming increasingly more common. However, the boxes can be both heavy and somewhat unwieldy, making them difficult to remove from normal shelves.

With drop-front shelves, the entire front of the shelf can fold down so you can pull boxes straight out, without having to lift them over an edge. This means you can put the shelves closer to the top. You can also put the front of the drop shelf on the floor to create an easily accessible space.

Creativity or Van Racking on Steroids

Van racking can take any van, regardless of size and model, to an entirely new level of efficiency. The potential of van racking is endless, whether you choose storage units for tools, spares or other onsite items the van racking and accessories options are quite literally endless.

VAN RACKING IDEAS

  1. The double floor: However well renowned the double floor is, in a large van, you do not need it; you already have enough space. Although, it is still a great solution to optimise space in small and medium-sized service vans.
  2. Sliding shelves, pegboards, and drawers: The sliding drawers that are often associated with double floors are, however, are still very relevant. As are the equally smart sliding shelves and pegboards. It gives you, just like drawers, easy access to all your storage spaces without having to enter the van.
  3. Mini-workshop: Create a mobile workshop fully equipped with a large workbench with a vice, a perforated wall with hooks to hang your tools, and everything else you need to be able to work efficiently while out on the road.
  4. Make use of the ample space: Get creative! It does not matter what your needs and requirements are. Considering the available space, you can design it pretty much however you want for any profession.
  5. Foldable shelves (Flexi shelves): Fold them up when you need some extra space to transport large equipment and machines. Fold them down to use them as a regular storage space.
