As a Service Partner of Brigade, SM UK are one of the companies working with the commercial CCTV manufacturer van racking manufacturer to help companies in Yorkshire improve the efficiency of their staff, as well as their professional look and cost saving capabilities.
Who are SM UK?
Operating since 2000, SM UK were solely known as specialists in the installation of safety and awareness systems into HGV’s and LGV’s. These systems include cameras to make sure that the driver can fully see all around their vehicle; ultrasonic detection sensors as an additional aid to warn drivers of any VRU’s (vulnerable road users) that could still be in their blind spots. More recently, SM UK saw a small gap in the market to not only approach businesses with large HGV fleets about their safety needs and requirements, but also their van fleets to make sure they are suitably prepared to carry out the function they have been purchased to do. By opening some new premises in Gildersome, Leeds SM UK are now able cater for this need. The majority of van fleet vehicles require some form of shelving and racking system in their load bays to allow the driver to store tools and materials efficiently and look more professional.
Who are Brigade?
SM UK have been associated with Brigade for a number of years now, through the installation of their camera systems onto HGV vehicles across the UK. But did you know that these same systems could be installed onto your fleet of vans too?
Brigade Electronics is a market leader in vehicle safety systems with a comprehensive range of products to reduce the risk of collision and maximise efficiency, including camera monitor systems, reversing alarms, ultrasonic proximity sensors, digital recorders and a thermal image camera. We are a global company with solutions to suit all commercial vehicle and industry types and a team of engineers working to bring innovative answers to the market place as well as a sales service and support team for even the biggest fleet of vehicles.
Brigade has been pioneering the cause of reversing safety since 1976, when we introduced the very first reversing alarm to Europe. We continue to lead the way in vehicle and plant safety, having extended our range to include all-round visibility, pioneering many products and developing and patenting new technology.
Where and how is it mounted?
To make sure that the camera systems meet the industry requirements, they are designed and mounted in such a way that they are deemed safe enough for Health and Safety purposes but are positioned suitably to allow the best coverage to help eliminate blind spots – which even in a van exist!
There is the option to have a monitor installed too to show a live stream from the cameras in the cab.
Brigade’s systems are designed to help improve the safety of vehicles by eliminating blind spots around any vehicle, but also make it possible to record footage should the vehicle be involved in an incident. This not only gives the driver piece of mind should there be an incident, but also covers the business and can potentially save them money!
Businesses that have already had this system installed onto their fleet have seen a decrease in insurance costs by up to 50% as they have been able to provide sufficient evidence when any insurance claim is going through.
