Operations Manager – Stream

Every second counts when it comes to road safety and incident management. At Stream, our mission is to empower fleet operators with the real-time insights and AI tools they need to protect their drivers and their bottom line.

We’re seeking a high-calibre Operations Manager to join our team in Leeds. This role requires a true leader with energy, character and passion. Since launching Stream we have developed a like minded highly driven team and we have secured contracts with some of the UKs largest fleet operators tired of shoddy customer service and unpredictable support from other providers. As an engineering company we brought Stream to life to provide a solution that is at the forefront of SaaS in the world of Fleet telematics and video safety.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • – Lead the Stream department with energy, clarity, and purpose, setting a strong vision for growth and excellence.
  • – Develop and implement the strategic plan for Stream’s product, service, and operational performance.

Commercial & Operational Management

  • – Own departmental P&L, budgeting, resource planning, and reporting.

Team Development

Driver / General Labourer

SM UK, a leading auto-engineering company specialising in commercial vehicle safety systems, is seeking a motivated Driver / General Labourer to support operations at our Leeds Head Office.

Job Description

Established in 2000 as a small family business, SM UK, an auto-engineering company specialising in commercial vehicle safety systems, has gone from strength to strength. Operating Nationwide dealing with some of the largest fleets in the country, whilst providing optimum solutions and a seamless service tailored to meet the exact requirements of our clients. 

SM UK currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Driver / General Labourer to further enhance and support operations and logistics at our Head Office / Workshop in Leeds. 

SM UK are recognised as the preferred supplier for the UK’s biggest manufacturer of vehicle safety systems and are the van conversion partner of choice for some of the countries most relied on companies.

We are looking to recruit a motivated, energetic, and ambitious individual. You may already be in a similar role or be looking for an opportunity to change roles, if so, we are interested in hearing from you, and in return we will give you the chance to develop and progress your future career with us. 

The ideal candidate must have a Driving Licence as there will be an element of driving required within the role to move parts and items amongst SM UK locations. Tasks will include, but not limited to collection and delivery of parts, collection / drop-off of SM UK Driver from / to customer locations. General site maintenance as required including general labourer duties such as housekeeping / organising / tidying up of workshop / stores etc. We provide full in-house training in our systems and procedures.

You will be an integral part of the efficient running of the business, providing a seamless internal service to facilitate the smooth operation of all departments and contribute to the service we provide our customers. Working to a high standard, on your own initiative and as part of a Team, you will have a ‘can do’ attitude and hands on approach, with the willingness to learn. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, dealing with a variety of tasks in a polite and professional manner, with an awareness of Health and Safety within a workshop environment.

Due to our continued progressive growth, diversification and further expansion into our new purpose-built facility, incorporating our new Leeds Head Office and Workshop, SM UK currently have fantastic opportunities for Workshop Installation Engineers to further enhance our existing team of Specialist Engineers. 

SM UK are recognised as the preferred supplier for the UK’s biggest manufacturer of vehicle safety systems including commercial vehicle CCTV, reverse cameras, cyclist detection systems including HALO®, obstacle detection and radar systems, visual warning systems and specialist vehicle installation. More recently SM UK has expanded into the Racking, Welfare and Van Conversion Market dealing with leading brands such as Sortimo and System Edstrom to provide bespoke solutions for clients up and down the country. 

We are looking to recruit skilled and motivated individuals who are ambitious and want to expand their skills and experience to develop their future career with us. Ideally you will have motor industry experience and may have worked in a variety of roles, including mechanic, technician, body repair, etc., we would like to hear from you as your skills will be transferable and we provide full in-house cross training on all our installation products. 

The position requires confident Engineers who can work to a high standard on their own initiative and as part of a Team. You will possess excellent communication and customer service skills, with a polite and professional manner. A full UK Driving License is not essential for Workshop Engineers but would be an advantage. 

Your duties will include the installation of the following products on commercial vehicles:

Compliance & Standards

  • •  Lead SM UK’s journey to achieving ISO 14001 accreditation.

Auditing & Improvement

  • •  Develop and manage QHSE policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • •  Complete supplier questionnaires and support compliance-related tender submissions.

Health & Safety Leadership

  • •  Champion a strong, positive health & safety culture across all areas of the business.
  • •  Provide expert advice on H&S legislation, policies and safe working practices.
  • •  Manage incident investigations and coordinate responses with internal and external stakeholders where necessary.

Training & Culture Development

  • •  Design and deliver training programmes, ensuring teams remain informed, capable and compliant.
  • •  Support behavioural change initiatives promoting best practice in quality, compliance, and safety.

Reporting & Documentation

  • •  Maintain accurate compliance records, audits, assessments, risk documentation and improvement plans.
  • •  Ensure all compliance-related evidence is stored, managed and updated to external audit-ready standards.

About You

You will be a confident, organised and influential professional with the ability to engage teams, drive high standards, and shape how compliance and safety operate across the organisation.

You will ideally bring:

  • •  Experience in a regulated or technical environment (motor vehicle experience is an advantage but not essential).
  • •  At least one year in a QHSE / Compliance function, with a proven track record of delivering strong outcomes.
  • •  Recognised health & safety qualification.
  • •  Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and H&S regulations and the ability to audit against these standards.
  • •  Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • •  Ability to influence, problem-solve, and embed solutions.
  • •  A passion for quality and operational excellence.

Job Description

Our business’s unique selling point lies in offering Turn-Key solutions for our customers’ on-the-go needs. We source and provide fully converted vans that are ready to hit the road, equipped with a comprehensive range of features and services, including bespoke racking solutions, on-board power systems and charging, warning lighting, strobes, beacons, work lights, camera systems and safety features, welfare conversions, crewcabs and bespoke mobile workspaces.  We can also provide our van conversion service to customers who already have their own vehicles or fleet.

Due to our continued progressive growth and further expansion into our new purpose-built Head Office and workshop facility in Leeds we are now looking to recruit a Van Sales Executive to join our Van Division Team to focus on increasing our commercial van sales, van conversion sales and workshop volume.

We are looking for a highly proactive, enthusiastic and target driven person who can confidently communicate at all levels.  You will be motivated and ambitious and want to be part of our expanding team with a desire to increase your knowledge and experience to further develop your future career with us.

You will ideally have experience within the automotive industry or working in a similar setting.  Drawing on your sales experience you will be responsible for developing and identifying your contacts to build a database of leads and a pipeline of potential business throughout the UK.

You will possess excellent communication and customer service skills and strive to provide the best possible customer solution for every opportunity, generating and building long standing working relationships with new and existing clients and strategic partners.

Working with our existing Van Team, you will be supported by a strong focused marketing function, our in-house design engineer and a wealth of industry knowledge from our coach builders and existing management team.
